SPARROW HOUSE

This 3 ½ story townhouse was built for Thomas Sparrow, a prominent shipbuilder in 1843. It is done in the Greek Revival style and features a central chimney and Flemish-bond brickwork. Currently the building houses two commercial spaces on the first floor, a single floor apartment on the second floor, and a two story residence with amazing water views on the third and fourth floors.

We began renovation work on this beautiful house after it had sat empty for a few years. The work included restoration of the floors, prepping and fixing the interior plaster walls, installing three new full bathrooms, one new kitchen installation and small renovation on another single kitchen. The exterior brick masonry was re-pointed and a new tern metal roof was installed.

We also obtained Historic Tax Credits for this project which equal 40% of the construction cost back in a tax credit (20% State and 20% Federal).
